Job Overview:

The Performance Marketing Manager role is for a self-starting, self-managed individual, who is curious, commercial and relentless at getting results every day. They will have the exciting opportunity to take control of a well-established group PPC budget totaling hundreds of thousands per month, and influence its development, strategy and distribution across several multi-million pound e-commerce websites.

Success metrics for performance will vary dynamically between our portfolio of SBUs, giving this role the opportunity to experiment and adapt advertising techniques to meet multiple KPIs including customer acquisition metrics, sales, profitability and ROI.

As one of the largest sources for new customer acquisition, the Performance Marketing Manager will be responsible for the continued growth and success of our business; Applying reason, logic, and evidence to improve investment strategies, optimally distribute marketing spend and keep us on the leading edge of PPC developments.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Delivery of Group Advertising KPIs including Spend, ROI, Acquisition and Profitability with the Group Marketing Manager – with monthly profit-and-loss reporting and detailed customer acquisition portfolios as required
  • Constant optimization of spend distribution - through investment/divestment and development of new/existing PPC strategies and targeting
  • Driving High Quality Search Traffic Strategy through testing, bidding strategies and pursuing new opportunities
  • Working with data and analytics management to optimize shopping feeds with a view to increasing group sales, conversions, profitability and ROI
  • Development and Strategy for SEO to supplement advertising areas including production of guidance for wider marketing team on best practices
  • Measure all acquisition methods end to end using GA / heat maps / usability testing & session recording
  • Implementation and management of external tools to complement above strategies
  • Carrying out comprehensive conversion rate analysis along with other Ad performance metrics
  • Tailoring advertising strategies to meet overall business objectives per SBU
  • A keen desire to truly understand how to create ‘need’ and being able to deliver this through effective ads
  • Direct line management of the Search Marketing Manager

What Success Looks Like:

  • At least a 10% growth in group Sales, acquisition and profitability from PPC, resulting in greater ongoing investment and better optimization
  • Significant developments in PPC strategy, such as targeting, new advertising types (e.g. DSP’s), bidding methods, feed optimizations, testing and more
  • Better B2B acquisition and retention through targeted advertising campaigns
  • An implemented effective Organic strategy resulting in stable presence across core terms
  • A developing Performance Marketing Team with growing confidence from it’s members
  • An ongoing optimisation mentality through investment and divestment across a large portfolio of businesses and product verticals
  • Improvements in group sales, acquisition, and profitability from shopping advertising as a result of a successful transition to performance max campaigns
  • The best at PPC advertising within the markets that we trade

  • Must be able to demonstrate that they have delivered successful growth as a result of specific actions on a multi-million £ yearly budget
  • Highly driven, highly focused and highly ambitious marketer who wants to prove their worth and takes pride in generating positive, objective results
  • Educated/Accredited in PPC/SEO
  • 5+ Years of hands-on experience of performance growth within eCommerce
  • Experienced working knowledge in Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads
  • Ability to analyse varied data sets and make concise decisions. Someone who can derive conclusions and execute new campaigns from the decisions
  • Must have the ability to measure, manage and develop multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Ability to conduct deep competitor analysis and key word discovery
  • A desire to implement and test new ideas, make your mark and make an on-going contribution to the strategic direction of our advertising spend
